Today I celebrated the fact that my second book, The Black Glass Killer, is near publication. I showed off the front cover as well as the plot synopsis. But there’s one more thing I’ve been wanting to do for a long time, and now I feel it’s the appropriate time to do it.

It concerns my first book, a crime thriller called The Sorrow. I always felt that as soon as my second book came out I’d just give this one away for free. After all it’s my first book, and I’ve come a long way since then, so it’s fun to look at as a little marker of where I started.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. The Sorrow is now totally free through Smashwords and Lulu.

Unfortunately I can’t make the Paperback version free due to manufacturing costs incurred by Lulu, but the eBook everywhere will be free in the coming days. So if you want to check it out or give me some reviews or laugh at my high school writing, feel free! I welcome all responses.

This is not a temporary thing. My first book, The Sorrow, is going to remain free. I have no desire to charge for it now that I believe I’ve made a lot of progress since then and view it as the book that could prove I could actually write a book.

Now it’s time to raise the game.

If you do decide to pick it up I hope you’ll be honest with your feedback if you choose to provide any, and at the very least I hope you’ll enjoy it and see it for what it is: humble beginnings.

You can pick up The Sorrow for free as an eBook from Lulu, Smashwords, the iBookStore and more. However it may take some time for retail outlets like the iBookStore to update the pricing so be cautious of that. Lulu and Smashwords have been changed effective immediately.

Onwards and upwards, to my next book!
